I am inspired by almost everything; I have a heavy interest in sciences and observing behavior. The natural world and the depths of the human mind are endless fountains of wonder to me. I have unusually vivid dreams and visions which I incorporate into my art and writing. I am in love with the human form, especially the most expressive parts: the hands and the face. Unless I am trying to accurately represent a species, I do not use models or other references unless absolutely necessary. I want pure inspiration and expression. My works are as varied in feel as emotions are varied in themselves; sometimes dark, sometimes joyous. I am touched by both light and darkness, and feel the need to express it all. I use fantastic creatures as allegories, and strive for the perfect capture of character or feeling. I do not draw or paint so much as "feel" a piece into being. Some common themes in my work include reverence for nature, expressions of emotion, capture of a character, exploration of life-forms, and androgynous or alien beauty. I love using different media, and often not for the purpose for which it was intended!

I am available for hire; I specialize in creatures, characters, logos, nature, and illustration. If you are interested in my work please click on the "contact me" link on the home page.
